At Theophany, Christ comes to the Jordan to be baptized by John, and the mystery hidden from all ages is made manifest: the voice of the Father bears witness, the Son stands in the water, and the Spirit descends in the form of a dove. At the blessing of waters, the Church celebrates the sanctification of all creation. The feast is kept on January 6.
