One week before Pascha, the Church celebrates Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, when crowds greeted Him with palm and willow branches crying 'Hosanna!' It opens Great and Holy Week, in which the Church accompanies Christ through His Passion to His Resurrection. The date is set by the Julian Pascha.
