Scholastica (c. 480–547) dedicated her life to God and led a community of nuns near her twin brother Benedict's monastery at Monte Cassino. Once, when he would not stay to talk of heaven, she prayed — and a sudden storm kept him there all night. She is the patron of nuns, convents, and education.
