St. Anthony of Padua, Priest, Doctor of the Church
Anthony of Padua (1195–1231) was a brilliant Franciscan preacher whose sermons drew such crowds they were held in open fields. Devotion remembers him holding the Child Jesus, and the world remembers him as the quick helper of all who have lost something. He is the patron of the poor and of travelers.
